GREEN DEAL WIGAN & LEIGH
A simple approach to job creation across the Borough
GET A SLICE OF THE GREEN DEAL AND ECO ACTION
The Government’s Green Deal and ECO initiatives are all about changing our building stock to be more energy efficient – both domestic (social and private housing) and commercial - so that our carbon emissions and energy consumption is reduced.
What this means is that slowly the supplier base and customer base is going to change. And with the funding that is available through these two initiatives there is a considerable amount of work that is being generated across the Borough.
And we know how difficult it is for local trades to get access to this funding and the work that is being generated.
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Green Deal Wigan & Leigh is set up to ensure that our local trades are geared up to meet this change. We will assess what training and accreditation you will need and can provide courses in environmentally sustainable technologies that you might struggle to find yourself. Plus you may even be eligible for training funding to which we can give you access.
We then provide a simple, affordable route to access local Green Deal and ECO funded work - whether you are a start-up, a sole trader or small/medium enterprise. And every trade can participate even if it means us helping you diversify into areas of sustainable growth which then meets the Green Deal/ECO criteria.
We have also invested in sophisticated software in order to manage the Green Deal/ECO funded work on your behalf. This includes giving you access to our Green Deal and ECO funding partners and manufacturers and then helping you keep to the quality thresholds that the Green Deal and ECO initiatives demand. And of course we ensure you get paid within 30 days!

Green Deal Wigan & Leigh is the local hub for Green Deal Consortia which is a national organisation set up to deliver the Green Deal. It has become a government good practice SME model, and links businesses to funders so that they can carry out energy efficiency works for householders across the UK and thereby stimulate local economies.
