The new Green Deal Oversight and Registration Body (GD ORB) has launched its Green Deal Registration process for Assessors, Installers and Certification Bodies including the Green Deal Provider authorisation process via www.decc.gov.uk/orb.
The web site opened on 8th August 2012 before the Green Deal from October 2012 and will be a source of information for prospective Green Deal Participants.
Green Deal Participant Register
The Register gives a quality mark to Providers, Certification Bodies, Installers and Assessors who have undergone the authorisation process. When authorised, their details will be publically available online with the registers accessible from 1st October, from which point those on the register will be able to use the Green Deal logo.
Green Deal Provider Authorisation
Green Deal Providers need to be authorised and are bound by authorisation requirements to operate as a Green Deal Provider. The Green Deal Oversight Body is accepting applications for Green Deal Provider authorisation. The application form and guidance are available to download from the ‘Become a Green Deal Provider’.
A fitness test will be undertaken to inform the Secretary of State as to a company’s suitability for authorisation. When authorisation is given, applicant’s details will be placed on the register of Green Deal Providers - the earliest date when to be on the register is 1st October 2012.
Further workshops have been programmed by DECC to explain the Provider authorisation process and to develop the process and the scheme.
