DECC in conjunction with Asset Skills are launching the Green Deal Advisor training, available in July, to ensure delivery of the Green Deal from October 2012.
Domestic and non-domestic energy assessors or home inspectors will need to be up-skilled in order to undertake the duties of a Green Deal Advisor.
Qualified energy assessors and home inspectors in England, Wales and Scotland who would like to train for the role are encouraged to contact Asset Skills direct.
The training, which will commence in July, is likely to take up to five months. The training will vary and include distance learning. The good news is that funding will be subsidised with a contribution from the learner.
Anyone interested in training as a Green Deal Advisor must register their interest on the Asset skills website or email firstname.lastname@example.org with confirmation of current status as an energy assessor or home inspector, including contact and location details.
The cost of the training contribution is not yet known but will be confirmed once the training providers are appointed.
About the funding:
As part of a £3.5 million fund secured to raise awareness of training, Asset Skills has obtained £1 million to train at least 1,000 qualified Green Deal Advisors ready for the launch of Green Deal on 1st October.
