The Green Deal Manager for Installers soon to be launched
Green Deal will provide many commercial opportunities for all types and sizes of installation firms, including sole traders. With an expanding market of energy efficiency home improvements to every domestic and non-domestic building in the UK, this is the largest home improvement programme since the Second World War.
The PAS 2030 is a specification which details installation requirements for energy efficiency measures and was prepared by the BSI specifically for the Green Deal. The PAS contains a generic management system which must be demonstrated for quality installation of all efficiency measures contained in its annexes. These annexes provide measure-specific requirements (including the necessary qualifications, standards and competencies) for each individual type of measure.
The government’s Green Deal Code of Practice, under imminent secondary legislation, compels Green Deal installers to be certified to PAS 2030 standards by a UKAS accredited certification body.
The Green Deal Manager: A One Stop Shop
The PAS 2030 forms part of the Green Deal Manager and the actual standard itself will be available upon membership. The Green Deal Manager is an on line tool which breaks up the PAS 2030 into management components and has a full set of procedures, processes and forms by way of templates for easy completion. In addition, and as part of the Green Deal Manager, you will be able to purchase copies of the relevant British Standards and other documents which may be required for each measure.
Working in partnership with certification bodies, we will ensure you have the opportunity to become Green Deal Installer certified leading to a Green Deal Kitemark Scheme, as well as any Green Deal Awareness Training.
